Hannah Koontz '26 Recruiting Profile

My athletic journey is defined by passion for continuous improvement and a strong commitment to my team. Beyond striving for personal bests, I strive to be a supportive team member and pump up others around me. While I have always loved to run, my journey as a more competitive athlete began during quarantine. Beside my dedication to running, I actively participate as a competitive Irish dancer and in club and high school field hockey. Despite facing a significant injury this past outdoor season, I approached recovery with a positive mindset. I started out easy with alternating 1-minute walk to 1 minute run. Then by mid season I was able to do half the track workouts. All of the hard work payed off at champs where I pr ‘d in all of my events. My 2 mile freshman year time was 11:57 and my sophomore year was 11:46. My athletic journey is unique because I did not participate in xc during my freshman, sophomore, and junior year. I have a huge belief in the power of hard work and staying humble and hungry.
