Hello my name is Aniyah Fersner, and I am currently a senior apart of the Class of 2024 at Largo High School (Upper Marlboro, MD). I would love to be a successful interior designer and architect. I have a passion for being creative and designing things. I would love to be able to use my abilities to the best I can. Also, I have been doing track for 7 years now, but it was not until my sophomore year of high school where I realized my potential and ability to go further. I would love to be taken under someone else wing to gain experience and grow as an athlete. The passion and desire I have for this sport is strong. It is my passion and what keeps me going. My freshman year was online, so I did not have a season until outdoor because of Covid-19. Even then, the training and competing was still training. Sophomore year I did not have a full indoor season; it was only a regional meet and state meet. Which we competed in as a team and placed first overall. I was able to become State Champion in all my events. My outdoor season of my sophomore year was not ended on the good note. I felt like I was running good times and improving like I should have, but I ended up catching Covid-19. Which made me not eligible to compete anymore. I was very heartbroken; however, that just made me hungrier for next season. Junior year came that was the first time I had a full high school season. It was new to me, but I pushed through and did what I needed to do. I became State Champion in the 55 hurdles, and Runner Up in the 300, 55, and 4by4. Outdoor came which meant redemption time, but I felt like I ended on an okay note. I became a State Champion in 100h, 300h, 4by2, and 4by1. I was not fully satisfied because I know I could be better. Yes, it was first place, but the times were not sitting completely right with me. Which this is making me fired up for my senior year and other years to come. I am training hard to prepare for whatever comes my way. I will be the best student-athlete I can be.
