Personal Statement
As a freshman, I went into my indoor track season blind. Never having done a team sport, I looked to my upperclassmen team mates for some type of navigation. They offered their support and understanding during personal times of struggle within my first two track seasons. If it weren't for their guidance, I would not have accomplished what I have, nor would I be the athlete I am today.
I was so fortunate to have such amazing role models in my early career as a freshman and sophomore. Now that they have graduated and gone off to college, I aim to use the leadership, devotion, and compassion they had taught me to further excel in the world of track. As I move forward, I have hopes to attend a school that can provide the academic and athletic opportunities I am striving for.
Despite the setbacks created by the ongoing pandemic, I have made running a top priority for myself. My dream is to compete throughout college and accomplish my own athletic and academic goals. My dedication to both my sport and my schooling make me a determined and suitable athlete and student. With a strong work-ethic, a tendency to lead, and high levels of commitment and competitiveness, I believe that I can leave a positive impact on your team.
