Personal Statement
I have many goals for my future in both running and academics. First I look forward to bringing my powerful yet relaxed intensity to my team, my happiness, and my studies. I want to meet future obstacles with strength and grace. In the sport of running, I plan to continue to use my resources like family, friends, and coaches to remain relaxed and calm before big events. In academics I plan to continue to manage my time wisely and be organized. In both areas I want to be successful.
I wanted to mention how people see me, and how I see myself, now and probably in the future. First of all I love to bring laughter to everyone around me. I just want to bring a wave of positivity and joy over people. I do this by being silly or making people laugh. Another thing is that I am trustworthy. I have many friends that depend on me. They know they can tell me anything. But another part of being trustworthy is being honest. I’m honest with my coaches and with myself. My parents have raised me to be honest with everything I do. When I know that something is harder than I can handle, I make sure to tell my coaches. Personally, I think it’s really important to be honest with your coaches. They need to know where you are in your training and what your limits are so that they can help you improve.
Confidence brings a winning attitude to those around me. Staying confident while at meets, or any other event with my friends or teammates, will keep people around me confident too. I look forward to the opportunity of higher education to give me the chance to live an independent life and do the things I love to do. With my parents guidance and trust I know I’ll be able to find happiness in college and in life.
