Hi, my name is Savannah Liles. I am a creative, hardworking, and fun-loving junior at Littleton High School in Massachusetts. My goal is to compete for a track and field program in college.
I am an athlete. Being a good athlete means having a strong mindset and the ability to push yourself every day. Avoiding distractions, and other temptations, and staying focused on your goals, no matter what. I love striving to be better every day. I thrive on setting goals for myself and chasing them with everything I have. If that means waking up early before school to get a workout in or doing homework until late in the evening, so be it. It’s all worth it when you achieve your goals.
I work hard. I am driven, organized, and ambitious. In addition to hurdling, I dance all genres, I race on a downhill ski team and I just retired from being the varsity soccer goalkeeper. I was also named MVP for my high school track and field team in my freshman year of high school and I received the Rookie of the Year award last year. This indoor season I was again named MVP, and was able to get 5 school records in the long jump, 200, 55mH, 60mH and the pentathlon. I hold a part-time job to help support the expenses of all of my activities. I do this because I love being part of a team and honestly, I love to have fun. Track has always been my favorite but I have spent my youth playing soccer, specifically goalie. In my opinion, this is one of the hardest positions because of the concentration, intensity, communication, and mental toughness required to carry my teammates. I use these experiences and apply what I have learned in my everyday life to help me excel.
I am coachable. I respect my peers and all adults. I listen hard, look my coaches in the eye, and try my best to execute the game plan. People are my priority. Relationships are important to me and I love with my whole heart. My family is my biggest support system and they do their best to help with my nutrition, strength training, hydration, sleep, and recovery. All of these factors help me continue to get better at this sport. I listen in class, do my homework, and challenge myself through rigorous honor and AP classes.
Lastly, I’m honest with myself, who I am, and what I stand for. I want to compete in college and it is my goal to do everything I can to achieve this. Thank you for considering me as a potential future teammate.
