Personal Statement
Hi, my name is Ashley Keleher and I am a three sport athlete from Mashpee, Massachusetts. My athletic career began as a young child playing soccer and basketball for recreational town leagues, eventually playing for travel, club, and AAU teams. In eighth grade I decided to participate on the high school track team, running the 400 meter dash and the 4x400 relay. During my freshman year I started running the 200 and 100 meter dashes. That is when I fell in love with the sport. Some of my athletic accomplishments over the years consist of being a senior captain and three year starter on the girls’ varsity soccer team. I’m a four year starter and 2 year captain of the girls’ varsity basketball team, a three time South Shore League and Cape & Islands All Star, runner up for the South Shore League Tobin Division Player of the Year, and the all-time leading scorer for the Mashpee High School girls’ basketball program. I’m a four year member and 2 year captain of the girls’ varsity track team, and a two time South Shore League Track & Field All Star. My goal for the upcoming year is to continue to improve on my times in the 200 and 100 meter dashes and be able to compete at the collegiate level. I have always had a competitive drive and have always pushed myself to be better and faster which is what makes me the hard working athlete that I am. Some of my hobbies consist of birdwatching, photography and traveling to national parks with my family. In the classroom I have a 3.25 GPA and my favorite class is environmental science. I plan on studying environmental science or ornithology while attending college.
