As a freshman I decided to try throwing shot put for our indoor track team at Frederick High School. That year, I placed 7th at the MD 3A State indoor meet. Last year, as a sophomore, I placed 2nd in the MD 3A State indoor meet. I did qualify for 2017 New Balance Indoor Nationals and I was one of the handful of sophomores that qualified for the shot in 2017. Last year was my first outdoor track season, during which I placed third at the Maryland 3A State Meet in the shot put, and fourth in the discus. Even as a rookie to track, I proved that I have what it takes to succeed. In my school, I take all honors/AP classes, and my desired major is either Public Health, Spanish, or Area/Group Studies.
Through my school, I participate in multiple clubs, in which I hold positions of leadership. I also am in charge of translating many documents from clubs/extracurricular activities into Spanish in order to inform the Spanish speaking students about events going on in my school. In August, I was a congressional aide for Congressman Carter from Georgia's first district. I am running for the position of "Student Member of the Board of Education" for Frederick County. The position was created to give the 41,000 students in the county a voice on the board. The link to my campaign website is as followed: www.tolbard4smob.weebly.com
Over the summer of 2017, I completed my Girl Scout Gold Award. Here's the link to my website describing my Gold Award: www.foxhavengoldaward.weebly.com
