Hi!! My name is Madelyn Frens. I run cross country and track. I played basketball freshman year but decided not to continue it for the rest of high school because I wanted to focus more on running and indoor track. Running is a huge part of my life. I love it more than words can express. It has been apart of my life ever since I was born. My parents were both All American collegiate runners. Their love for running was passed down to me. Someday, in college, I hope to be All American. I have no idea where my running path will take me but I hope to run at a very high level in college. I am extremely competitive and I never settle for anything less than my best, and I think that is very visible in my running performances. I love being a part of a team. I go to Grand Rapids Christian high school. My coaches and teammates are amazing. I am really looking forward to being a part of a college team when I know everyone on the team is going to work extremely hard, and not slack off. I think that what makes me different from others is my dedication to both running and in school. I am not naturally smart (so SAT and ACT) testing is not always the easiest for me, but my 4.0 GPA reflects that I work very hard to get good grades. For me I never settle for less than my best in school, I am kind of a perfectionist when it comes to school. In running the same goes, I do my best no matter the circumstances. I use every ounce that is in me to cross that finish line. I love to compete and push myself to new levels. I hope that this statement gets the point across of my passion for running, the hard work ethic I have in both academics and athletics, and my dreams of being a top-performing collegiate athlete.
