Winning the 300 hurdles Divsion 3 State Championship has been one of the biggest highlights of my high school career so far. Before States, I was the LCAA, Lenawee County, Regionals, and MITCA State Champion in a event I’ve never ran until my Sophomore year. To finish off the my season I was honored enough to be named Girls Track Athlete of the Year. I’ve learned that I take Track extremely seriously, and will do anything and everything to make myself better. I enjoy this because it allows me to improve myself mentally and physically. I started running track as a 7th grader in Middle School. The moment I started running my events, I knew this is what I wanted to do. Something I’ve come to learn about myself is that whatever my coaches needed me to do, I would do it in a heart beat. Whatever to help us score some extra points for our team, I’d do it. My freshman year my Coach was worried because we didn’t have a extra body to run our 4x4. I have never ran a 400 in that season or the season before that, but I thought to myself, why not? I told my Coach I’d do it. I ran 3rd leg, 1:05, today my Sophomore year, I anchor that relay, running a 59 flat.
