Jayla Belknap '28 Recruiting Profile

My name is Jayla Belknap, I'm in 8th grade and 14 years old. I go to a very small school in Knox County, Missouri. I started my throwing career last year and I strive to continue to grow as an athlete. Since my school only offers shot put and discus to middle school students, I chose to do both. I enjoy having the opportunity to throw both shot put and discus, but I see true success in my capabilities throwing discus. Being a multi-sport athlete I always keep my grades above a B. I strongly believe that no matter how good of an athlete someone is, being able to accomplish goals says more about the type of person they are. Since Knox County is such a small school, being good academically is always key to making it where you want to go. Because it isn't just a situation where you walk out the door and meet your future, you have to work hard for it, so I do!
