Personal Statement
I started running track when I was in the 7th grade. I started out in sprints and hurdles. The 400m dash was the only "long" distance run I thought I was good at. During my freshman year, at my conference track meet my coach put in the 4x800 relay, which is when I started to fall in love with long distance. My freshman year I made it to state in my 4x800 meter relay (which we placed 3rd), my open 800 hundred (which I placed 16th), and my 4x400 relay. Entering my Sophomore year of high school I told my coach I wanted to run long distance from there on out. So I was in the mile, 800, 4x800, and 4x400. I made it to state in three events that year, the 4x800, the 4x4, and my open 800. My junior year I ran the two mile, the 800, and the 4x400. I made it to state in three of those events my mile (placed third) my 4x400 (placed 5th) and my 800 (placed 5th, but later found out I was DQ'd for cutting in too early). My senior year goals are to go to state in all my events and place in all them as well. I plan to work hard to achieve these goals and will do whatever it takes to get there. I feel like I am a good candidate to be recruited because I have big plans and goals for the future. I found my love for track in the middle of my sophomore year and knew I wanted to run at the higher level. I run ever meet like there is a college coach there watching me, preforming at my best to be noticed. My best times for my open events are-
800m- 2:26
1 mile-5:31
2 mile-12:51
400m- 1:02
