Kaileigh Ford '16 Recruiting Profile

I am the second oldest of six children.  My mom and dad have always instilled in me the importance of education.  Therefore I have always known I wanted to attend college, and due to the number of kids in the family, I have always known that I would need to do everything in my power to help pay for my college.  

I have a 4.2 GPA and I am a member of National Honors Society.  I love school and I love to learn.  I constantly push myself to do my best in the classroom.  I am currently enrolled in College biology as a junior and I am looking forward to enrolling in more advanced classes my senior year. 

In the 5th grade I joined my Elementary running club, and I haven’t stopped running!  I love to run.  I have been on the varsity squad in cross country and track since I was a freshman.  In fact, I was the only girl in cross country my freshman year.  I can’t imagine not running in college, and it has been a goal for me to continue my running at the collegiate level.  I have always tried to be a strong leader for my team and give 110% at every practice and meet.  I train year round for cross country and track.  During the summer I try to do as many road races as I possibly can, and ran in my first half marathon last spring and finished with a time of 1:56:42.  My goal for end of cross country my junior is to run sub 21:00.

I consider myself a good candidate for any team because I will dedicate myself completely to my team and my academics.  I am excited to become a member of a new team and to take on new challenges as both an athlete and a student at the college level.
