Personal Statement
Running in high school has definitely developed me as an athlete and a person. As an athlete, I have been taught the importance of a positive mentality while running and overcoming the obstacles that seem unbeatable. I have learned that being an underdog can be a positive thing and can help motivate you. My biggest accomplishment, outside of placing 4th in the 4x800M relay at state track this past spring, is probably qualifying for sectionals in the 1600M as an 8th ranked athlete. As a person, the past 3 years I have learned the value of team unity, commitment, and sacrifice and have been lucky enough to have been picked as a team leader this year; serving them as a role model and someone they can look up to. I am willing to give my all for a team and do everything I can in order to excel on and off the track.
