Personal Statement
I am 18 years old going to be 19 on November 16th 2011! I am 5'4" tall and weigh 118 pounds. Throughout my junior high and high school years I have accomplished 3 years of track. The past two years I have made it districts and sectionals. My 10th grade year I made it to sectionals because I got fourth place in the 300mhurdles and last year I made it to sectionals with our 4by1 team. Also last year I beat the high schools girls 300mhurdle record (54.81) with a time of a final time of 53.59. I beat my record three times after that and got my time down to the 53.59. That record had not been beat since 1996. Our 4by1 team received all-conference last year. I also got very close to beating the 200mdash record and the 110 hurdle record for the girls, but did not. With me being a senior this year i believe i can beat those records at least the shorter hurdle record. I was not the captain or co-captain, but I am very capable of being one, my coach said that any coach would be lucky to have a kid like me on their team. I am dependable, always ready on time, willing to try my best, push myself to get better, do as I am told, and respect the coaches and everyone on the team. I am there to help others if they need help and I do any extra tasks the coach might need. When I am done with my event I go watch my teammates and cheer them on. They need someone to tell them they can! One time my fellow teammates decided they did not want to run everything the coach said, so I went along with them. I felt guilty, went to my coach told her I didn't run it all, and then I told her that i was going to go back and run the amount she said. I did and in return I felt better and so did she, from then on I didn't let others get me to follow their ways. I think it would just be awesome to participate in track still in college, I love to run, and I love the hurdles. I would love to go to East Central College, Drury College, or Missouri S & T in Rolla, Missouri. Rolla is not very far from where we live, only an hour away, and I have gone there lots of times since I was a kid. I am very familiar with the area and I love the size (it's not too big or small). I plan on staying with my parents til I get more money, but I wouldn't mind living on campus only if I had too. I am looking for any college in Rolla and a college that offers a bacholers degree in nursing. I plan on pursuing a bachlor's degree in nursing to become a RN, then go to an accredited school to become a CRNA. My athletic goals is to be put wherever I fit best I would love to start out as a freshman then work my way up.
