Personal Statement
My running career started at the end of my sophomore year in high school by running the mile in track. I wasn't bad at it then, but I wasn't the best either. Even so, I began to love running. I made the decision to go out for the cross country team my junior year. That summer, I worked hard everyday to be able to run 3.1 miles- and be good at it. All of my hard work payed off with my successful season. I was a conference champion, State 5th place medalist, part of the all state team, and was awarded with the Academic All State Award as well. Track season also went very well. I was a district champion in the 1600 and 3200. I placed 3rd at state in the 3200 with a PR of 11:42 as well. I never would have thought I'd be thinking about doing sports in college, but now, it's my biggest goal and what I am really working towards. Running has changed my life for the better and I can't imagine my life without it.
