Personal Statement
My name is Mackenzie Lisa Prezume and I am a 5'5, 400m/800m runner. I have been a Varsity XC, indoor track, and outdoor track athlete for Bloomfield High School (NJ) since my freshman year.
Track has allowed me to make unbelievable friendships and has taught me more lessons than I can count. It has taught me determination, patience, and willpower. Even though track is seen as more of an individual sport, it has taught me that there is no 'I' in a 'track team' and it takes a team to win. As an athlete, I have a lot to offer a college team. I am a person who will motivate and support the team in victory or defeat.
As an AP and Honors student, I love learning and I am very grateful for the education I have received and will receive in college. In the recruiting process, finding a school that will benefit me academically and athletically will be the most important factor. Diversity is the second most important factor, as I would love a school that has true diversity and is proud of it.
I loved being a three-sport scholar-athlete all throughout high school and I would love to continue being a student-athlete in college.
