Personal Statement
I am currently a junior at the Academy of the Holy Angels, where I have achieved honor roll multiple times and am part of the National French Honors Society. Prior to track and field, I competed on a competitive swim team during middle school. My track and field career can be best described as a slow, but steady progression in the right direction. My first two years of the sport were mediocre, in my underclassman years I did not quite understand the events I was doing and how to do them properly. Through hard work all throughout the summer of 2017, I was able to put everything together and have a six foot improvement in the triple jump, and a three foot improvement in the long jump. As things are starting to come together, I am extremely confident in my ability to put bigger jumps out there during the rest of my high school career. I believe that this is the beginning of a new journey for me, and my dedication to this sport should not end after high school. As the distances of my jumps increase, my eagerness to continue track and field in college increases as well. One of my biggest aspirations to be part of a college track and field team, to further push myself past my limits even after my high school career is over.
