Stephanie Sparacino '13 Recruiting Profile

Dear Coach, My name is Stephanie Sparacino. I am 5’ 5’’ and 115pounds and presently a senior at Raritan High School in Monmouth County, New Jersey. I’ve been running competitively for six years, and for the past four years as a member of the cross-country and track and field varsity teams. As a sophomore in the Group 2 North 2 division I was ranked second in the 400 meter run and seventh in the 800 meter run. My best time to date in the 5K is 19:59. For the first time this spring track I ran the 400 intermediate hurdles and I qualified at State Sectionals going to Groups with my best time being 66.45 seconds. I am dedicated and bring a positive outlook to the team each and every day, along with encouragement before the big race. I am the first runner on the track and the last to get off. I have been team captain since cross-country season of my junior year and I am thrilled to continue being captain for another three seasons. I also run the 4 x 400 meter relay team and have been anchoring it since winter track my sophomore year. My coach awarded me the Most Valuable Newcomer award in my freshman year and recently Most Valuable Runner. I would like to attend a school known for strong academics and a vibrant athletic program. My goal as college freshmen would be to run and be part of a competitive team, as well as to continue to excel academically. I also participate in clubs such as athletic training club and world language club. Recently I have been inducted into the National Honor Society and I have also received and academic scholar award. As of my sophomore year my class rank is 16th out of 275 and my GPA is 3.81. At this point, I am considering a career as an athletic trainer or biology. Respectfully, Stephanie Sparacino
