Personal Statement
As a student and Track and Field athlete, I am very independent and hard-working. I believe I am a great team player and easily coachable athlete who always works to improve myself in the classroom and on the track.
I began running track and Field at my high school my freshman year and I have competed for varsity in both the Winter and Spring Track seasons since. I had a successful freshman year, however, in my sophomore year, I was injured with a stress fracture for my Winter and Spring seasons that year. At first, this was hard news to swallow, but I learned to contribute to my team in other ways. Though I was injured for my whole sophomore year seasons, I came back even stronger in my junior year. I have worked independently and with my team to keep myself injury free and I have pushed myself in all of the workouts this Winter and Spring season. I have been able to improve my times significantly since my Freshman year and this year I attended the State Championships in both my indoor and outdoor seasons.
As a student, I always give 100% in all of the work I do. Being a student-athlete has taught me to time manage myself and work hard in numerous ways. At school, I am apart of the National Honors Society which has taught me to contribute to my community. Outside of school, I am an assistant coach for the Youth Athletic Track and Field Program in my community.
I am dedicated to everything I do and I can promise to always give maximum effort on and off the track.
