Having self respect is a very important trait in my eyes. Track has definitely taught be a lot about myself and self respect. Since joining the track team in fifth grade, track has shaped me into the person I am today. When I started running in the local town recreational league in fifth grade I had to work hard to compete in the first heat, so I could assist my team in scoring points and winning. In High School I have been awarded First Team All Conference through my Freshman and Sophomore years and I am the second highest scorer for my team. Track has taught me discipline, hard work, leadership, and how these traits have shaped me into a better athlete. These attributes are not only important to have on the track - either competing or practicing - but they are also skills that are important in every aspect of life.
I am looking forward to using what track has taught me and applying it to my journey as a student athlete. I am looking for a program that has the right academic and athletic fit. Also, I hope to continue to grow with the knowledge I will gain from new experiences and lessons that being part of a track team can offer.
