I began running in my freshman year when I joined the girls' cross-country team. I was brand new to the sport and struggled during the first season, but still went on to run indoor and outdoor track. Despite the challenges I was met with, I came to love both sports and became dedicated to getting my varsity letter; I successfully achieved my goal during my first season of outdoor track. My current ambitions are to continue to progress in my athletic career and someday run at a collegiate level.
Outside of sports, I work very hard to maintain a high GPA; I do well in school and have maintained straight As in all of my classes. I take several AP courses, including Calculus AB, Chemistry, and Physics I. During my senior year, I plan to continue challenging myself academically and enroll in more AP courses, including Biology, Calculus BC, Physics II, and Psychology. In my free time, I volunteer at my local hospital, contribute to my school as a Peer Leader, and also maintain a seasonal job.
I strongly value the importance of hard work and teamwork. I put my best effort into everything that I do and always try to make every member of my team feel welcomed and supported.
I hope to attend a competitive college that will challenge me both academically and athletically. I am open to all options, but would prefer universities that offer high-level courses in my fields of interest.
