Track is not something I just do, it is my ticket to my future. It's a way for me to express myself and be me, I've been participating in track since I was seven years old and through the years, I have achieved things I never thought I was capable of. Such as qualifying for nationals three times and making regionals every year. In the two years my family was able to take me to nationals, I was able to finish in the top 40 in the nation. Which is not where I am going to stay. I am striving to be in the top ten in the nation. My goals are to throw over 10m in Shot Put and over 30m in Discuss.
While track is very important to me, my grades always come first. Since I reached middle school I have always had a 3.0 GPA or higher. In my household falling below a 3.0 GPA, or getting C's or worse are not acceptable. Being able to compete in track is very important to me but I know I must meet or exceed the standards my parents set for me if I want to compete in Track& Field. My goal is to get a full scholarship to college so I can get my education paid for and accomplish my dream of owning my own business. I also know how important grades are when schools are considering you for there program so I make sure I put in the work now so I know how to be a successful student athlete.
I know that I cannot compete in Track & Field forever, I will be going to school to get my Bachelors Degree majoring in Business Management. My dream is to own My own athletic gym. I know I have to have a plan and take things one step at a time so I can make it a reality. I have always had a passion and drive to set my goals and do what it takes to reach them with dedication and commitment. Growing up I have used that discipline and passion to better my self in my education. Also, by being an active member of my community it has allowed me to show I am a good person.
