Personal Statement
This year was my first year competing in the sport of cross country. I wanted to try out something different and found myself pretty successful in my first year competing in the 5A district of New Mexico. I first went out to run with my high school team, the Cleveland Storm, in July of 2018. After continuous hard work and dedication I made the varsity team and continued to work toward winning a state title. Through out the season I thrived to push myself as well as my teammates. I worked my way into the #2 spot on my team and we finished the season as district champions and as state runner-up. I qualified as an all-state runner in the state meet as well. But our season was not over yet. My team continued our training and hard work for the Southwest Nike Regionals. Regionals was a great experience and gave me the opportunity to not only see but run with such tough competition. I finished 72nd and PR'd with an 18:32.7. I am now training and working to have an even better season in 2019 and win a state title for me and my teammates. I would be honored to be given the opportunity to continue my running career at the collegiate level. I am very hard-working, dedicated, strong-willed, and determined. I am constantly motivating myself and my team to be the best we can be and compete to our fullest ability. I'm hoping I can bring that to a new team at the next level.
