Personal Statement
Running track is something that was introduced to me my freshmen year of high school and ever since I've loved it. I've learned how to become a better athlete and teammate altogether, with the help of my coach and support from my family. I feel I haven grown as a student-athlete because with track I'm happy, my purpose of running now and hopefully running in college is to prove to myself and others I can make it and be something good in such a challenging sport. It's hard but my life has been so much easier and stress free because of it. Running track was not easy at first. I couldn’t do certain drills, I didn't know how to breath properly and I couldn't effectively apply the principles of track while I ran. But after trying and having 2 years of experience under my belt thus far my body started to adjust, now the thought of running comfortably and engaging in mid distance has become something that I could easily manage. I keep proving to myself a lot of the time that I’m much stronger than I think and if I just believe in my ability, I can do anything I set my mind to.
I'm fortunate enough to be apart of a legacy here at Bishop Loughlin, but it also gives me a chance to make my own and also with my teammates. I've been apart of great achievements such as going to PENN Relays, going to states to compete against other great teams in the girls 400x4 and qualifying for other amazing things as well. I am a driven and eager person not just on the track field but outside of track, from experience I've learned to have a positive mindset and I've also learned how nothing is given but if you truly want something you have to work hard. As a top student my academics and school work is something I take seriously because i think education is important and it'll take me far. However as an athlete I strive to be the best possible I can be because running is something that i truly care for and hope to get better in as I progress.
