Hello, my name is Kayleigh Robinson and I will be entering in the 12th grade. I have been a member of the Mount Sinai Varsity Track team for 5 years. My favorite event is the 400m Hurdles! . My best time in the 400m hurdles is 63.03 which I ran at the New York State Championship meet in Syracuse June 8th & 9th 2018. I was New York State Champion for Division 2. It was one of the best days of my life! I was also anchor leg for the 4 x400m relay at states and I ran a 59.6 split soon after running my 400 hurdle race. I have run 57 splits according to my coach in our County Championship meet. Next year I will be on the 4x800 relay team hoping to be County and State Champions on that relay. Feb 1st, 2018 I just ran my personal best 600m time of 1:39.3 receiving 2nd Place in our County Championships. I received 1st Place in the 55h Hurdles with a time of 8.93 and was first leg in the 4x800 relay placing 1st!!. Being a County Champion was so exciting for me. I also ran cross country this past fall to get in the best shape for my up and coming track seasons. Mount Sinai girls Cross Country won the overall 2017 Suffolk County Championships! We competed in the New York State Championships Saturday, November 12th and placed 3rd as a team. Currently my best time for the 5k at Sunken Meadow State Park, NY is 21:45. Sunken Meadow is one of the toughest courses on the East Coast. I was named All State and All County for Spring 2017. I was named Varsity All League Winter track 2017. I really enjoy running especially the 400m hurdles and with proper training and coaching I feel I will be a great asset to my future college team. I am a member of the "Athletes helping Athletes" nationally recognized organization in Mt. Sinai High School. I was very excited, as I started my 2017-2018 winter track season with an 8 hour plus training with Dalilah Muhammad the US gold Olympic 400m hurdler. It was a track camp at the Armory in NYC and she trained me and about 15 other hurdlers . I received a lot of personal time with her. We did many different hurdle drills for over 8 hours. It was a lot of work and she gave me very good advice. It was an awesome experience, one I will never forget. This upcoming track seasons I will strive to do my best and make myself and coaches proud.
