Sarah Wiatr '12 Recruiting Profile

Hello, my name is Sarah Wiatr. I am going into my Senior year at West Canada Valley High School. I have been running varsity indoor and outdoor track for a total of 9 seasons now, and my biggest goal is to continue running in college. Knowing that my height of 5 feet is a disadvantage in the triple jump, it makes me want to work harder to achieve my goals. I have qualified for the NYSPHSAA outdoor Track & Field championships three years in a row for triple jump placing 7th, 5th, and 3rd in DivisionII, and have also competed in the NYSPHSAA Indoor Track & Field Championships. Also, I have set the CSC Division I triple jump record in 2009, along with 4 other school records in other events. When I set the CSC record, I was honored CSC Division I field MVP. I am interested in attending college in New York State to still be within driving distance of my family. School size has no effect on me although I am interested in a Division II or III college. At this time, I wish to major in athletic training/sports medicine. A track and field scholarship has been my dream since I was 12, but that's not everything. My love for track and field is unconditional. I wish to run and jump as a freshman and help my team where they need me.
