Personal Statement
Track and Field is something I want to do in college, and what I fell in love with in high school. I love being a part of a team and just having that family bond. I am the kind of athlete who will always push themselves and others. Every athlete has their ups and downs but regardless of that what matters is putting your all into it. I love the companionship that comes with a "Track Family". I owe it to firstly my coaches and my family for teaching me the values of not only performing well but also feeling well too. Track and Field is just as much physical as it is a mental sport too. It's always important to be in that right mindset. I'm always positive and I love helping bring positivity or sometimes even jokes to a track meet to lighten the mood. When I first started track my freshman year of high school I began to do hurdles and that's when I became obsessed with them. I love competing in 100 meters HH, it's such an exhilarating but quick experience. I am very well rounded and after my freshman year, I decided I wanted to start working more on pentathlon and would love to become a heptathlete in college. Hurdles are of course my priority but I love doing long jump as well. I want to expand my horizons so that I can strive to be successful in multiple events such as Jessica Ennis-Hill.
