Personal Statement
I am athletic, compassionate, competitive and confident. I am a team player and a hard worker. I am sixteen years old, academically inclined and a leader. I am 5”5’, 118 pounds longer jumper and sprinter.
I am an early college student. By the end of this semester, I will have the required credits to earn an Associate of Science degree. I am proud of maintaining an above average G.P.A. of 4.1 and have a desire to major in Chemistry and to minor in Architect.
I have a passion for track and field. My mother tells me that as a toddler that I would run the distance of a teenager and would run very fast. My primary event is the long jump but I equally thrive as a sprinter and relay participate. During this track season, I qualified for the regionals in both the long jump and the 100 meter dash. On March 23. 2017, I qualified in the long jump event with a 16 feet 5 inches jump. On April 12, I qualified for the 100 meter dash with a 12.9 time.
Not only have I participated in track and field events, but I’ve also played high school basketball, tennis, volleyball and soccer. I enjoy sports and competition.
I am open to attending different types of schools though I dream of attending big schools and even Ivy League schools. However, wherever I’m fortunate enough to attend, it is my goal to give whole-heartedly of myself. I am of a single-parent household and financial assistance is going to be a very important to me in the selection process as my family will have a high need. I am willing to travel far or to stay near for my educational experiences but the acceptance of my already earned college credits will play a pivotal role in the college selection as well.
I am looking forward to contributing to the college experience and to society as well. I hope to find a school willing to invest in my dreams as a scholar student and as a athlete as well. I want to put my small town of Ahoskie, NC on the map for a successful citizen, student, and athlete.
Academically and Athletically Yours,
Mydison
