Personal Statement

I have been running since I was 12 years old and I aspire to run at the collegiate level. My love for running, competing, and training year-round means that I can be in community with others who also love to run in the fall with cross country and in the winter and spring during indoor and outdoor track seasons. I’ve also been able to train in the summer months with athletes from other high schools.

As a team captain, I work hard in training and try to lead by example. I’m ready to hear coaching advice and I strive to be my best by working hard to always improve. My school does not have a track and we often improvise our training to accommodate. I have learned how to be flexible and put the team focus before my own goals. I have had to be versatile for my team and eagerly do back-to-back events often to score the points needed.

I am dual-enrolled as an online student at The North Carolina School of Science and Math and as a student in my primary high school. I have maintained an unweighted 4.0 GPA throughout high school while taking all of the available AP classes. I also volunteer at WakeMed hospital, work part-time as a summer lifeguard, and volunteer as a Buddy for The Miracle League.

I want to pursue my continued education where I can push myself in the classroom and in running. I am open to all options and want to ultimately find the right college match at the highest level of academic challenge and competition possible.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
