My Name is Cassandra Kowalski and I am from Buffalo, New York. I was a competitive gymnast for twelve years which made me into the athlete I am today. I started pole-vaulting in 8th grade on the Starpoint High School Varsity Track and Field team in Lockport, NY. My Starpoint High School coach recruited me to be on the varsity team specifically for pole-vault and I loved it. When I vaulted ten feet in 8th grade I retired from gymnastics to focus on my pole-vaulting career. When My family moved to North Carolina I realized that I really wanted to vault in college. I have been competing in long jump and triple jump as well for 4 years now. My goals are to become a successful athlete in college as well as a valuable point scorer for my team. My season of 2013 i was awarded MVP for my team and this past season of my junior year i was labeled captain. My dedication and hard work will hopefully help me achieve my personal goals as well as benefit the school I choose to go to.

- I started training with Coach Palmer and Coach Shelton Harrison at the beginning of the summer of 2013. They are training me to be a heptathlete as well as compete triple jump and pole vault. I train about 5-6 days a week. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday I lift weights and do plyometrics. Saturday I run and Jump and Sunday I throw and pole vault.

- Gymnastics is my key to success in my pole-vaulting career. I was a gymnast for eleven years . Eight out of the eleven was competitive gymnastics. When I was a level Nine gymnast I decided to focus on pole-vault.
