I was 12 years old when I started to run, I began to run when my mom decided that I should finally use all the running I did in the yard to something useful. I always ran in the yard almost all day thinking that I was a horse. I have learned through running track change is always great for example when I said I ran like a horse I learned bad habits like stomping my feet and not using my arms when I ran. Coaches help me change and improve my form extremely and that help relieves pain that I had in my feet. This sport also taught me to come out of my comfort zone, instead of running just 2 events I tried to run the 400m dash and learned to love it and it came to be my best event. A few characteristics that describe my personality is outgoing, hardworking, quiet but can be loud when needed, and laid- back I don't like to be always front and center.
What I have learned about myself in this sport that it pushes me past my "limit point" and I put that in quotations because I use to always say I had a limit point but when I would compare my times I saw that I kept improving. This sport also taught me be open up to my teammates when I first started I barely talked to anyone but now I'm a team captain and I guide people to come to their best. I had a few obstacles to make it where I am at currently the biggest one was correcting my form. I was thinking about it too hard to put my elbows back or run on the ball of your foot. The most recent obstacle was I had torn my IT Band in high school dance class but I took a rest and did some recovery exercises. I am in training now and hopefully never have an injury like that again. My academics goals for high school is to have A’s and B's honor and graduate with a high GPA. I also want to get more serious with study and understand what I am being taught. For college I want to get a firm grasp on what I am learning so I can use it in the future. I want to also be proactive instead of waiting the last minute to do an assignment or paper.
