I am currently a junior at Garner Magnet High School in Garner, NC. I have been a member of the indoor and outdoor track team for the past two years. Prior to high school and still currently I have been running track for six years with the Carolina Eagles Track Club located in Raleigh, North Carolina. Track and Field has become a full time sport for me. Over the years, I have grown fond of the 200 and 400 meter dashes and for the past three years I also compete in triple jump. My times are up to date, my best being 38.2 in triple jump and 25.2 in the 200m until March 31,2015 where I ran a 24.9 (hand time) at Rolesville High School meet.
Being a student athlete I understand the importance of achieving good grades. With that being said even with my rigorous training schedule I still manage to consistently maintain A/B’s in the classroom and received several Academic Scholarship and Leadership awards for my efforts. At Garner Magnet High School I currently take several honors courses including English, Civics and Shakespeare. I currently have a 3.2 GPA and plan on taking the SAT/ACT test in my junior and senior year. In the meantime to prepare I am actively utilizing SAT test training websites. My academic strengths are in Science and English, while my weakest is math. I do have tutors on hand that assist me with understanding when needed.
On a collegiate team, my goal is to be pushed both physically and academically. I am confident i can offer great leadership and be a positive role model towards my teammates. I'd like to be in an environment where competition is high, that way I can measure myself on a greater scale. Ultimately, I hope to prove to my coaches that I am both focused and very serious about the sport.
