Thank you for viewing my profile! My name is Cam and I’m a eight season varsity runner and H.S. National Silver Elite in cross country. I believe I make a good candidate to run in college because I am a well-rounded and self-disciplined person with a desire and willingness to push myself beyond expectations on the track and in the classroom.
My coaches tell me my form is excellent and I have powerful closing strength. For me running is not just a passion, it's also in my blood! I come from a family of competitive distance runners who went on to run successfully in college, including an All-American and member of a NCAA DI Big Eight Championship Team. I noticed at a young age that running came naturally for me but it wasn't until middle school when I knew running would be a big part of my life too. I'm very excited about what I can accomplish with the right college, coach and team. My short term athletic goals are to achieve national elite standards in all distance events and continue to be the best role model I can be on and off the track.
My junior year highlights includes:
Over the summer, I am working as a teacher's assistant (STEM) for Sylvan Learning Centers of Raleigh. I will also be attending a couple of cross country camps to get ready for my senior cc season.
While running is a huge part of my life, my education is most important to me. My junior and senior schedules are loaded with all core academic courses including Honors Algebra II, Honors Pre-Calculus, Honors English III & IV, Honors Physics, Honors French III & IV, Honors Chemistry as well as AP Statistics because I plan to pursue a degree in the Mathematical Sciences. I have already completed 16 NCAA core academic requirements.
My long-term goals are to continue to improve, stay healthy and find a university that challenges me as a student first and where I can apply my athletic talents towards the team's overall success. I offer depth, work ethic and versatility. I’m open to all program levels, ideally strong academic schools in competitive athletic conferences located within the Mid-east or Southeast regions. I perform best in a team-oriented environment where involved coaches and close camaraderie among fellow teammates is highly valued. I hope you will continue to follow me because I am only going to get stronger and faster as I continue to develop. I want to realize my fullest athletic potential at the collegiate level not high school.
