Tochi Okoli '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been training in Track and Field for more than five year now, but I began to compete in my repective fields in 2018. Through training with multitudinous different coaches, I have learnt how to communicate my training style and my limits in ways that would better my performance, whilst also improving the coach/athlete relationship that I have with my many coaches. Therefore, I believe that it is now that I have developed my athletic training and skill, and developed myself as an athlete.

I have grown the most as an athlete in the last year - from feeling quite dejected about my ability as athlete, to learning and fully now understanding that my performance is down to my dedication, commitment and training, and I have fully learnt the value of these things in the last year, and look forward and strive towards future growth. Another aspect that contributed to this realisation was my expertise in other fields of sport, ranging from netball to lacrosse, basketball and volleyball

I am looking for a program that will not only be a good fit, but that really stretches me athletically and academically. As an academic scholarship holder at my current school, I appreciate and also hold dear the values of good education as well as my academics, and strive hard to be an all-rounded, high achiever. I often push myself beyond where I conceive I can go, and am looking for a program that is in line with my progressive athletic goals.

I believe therefore that I have the talent, work-ethic and dedication to make an full and strong impact on your program, and that I will bring 100% effort, grit and determination to any challenge or goal that I set for myself, or that is put before me.
