I am Alexis Boykin. In college I plan to perfect my shot put skills as well as to learn to throw javelin. As a sophomore I qualified for states and competed the same week my block was destroyed by a tornado. I didn’t throw my best that meet, but I knew that if I worked hard, I would set a new personal best the following year. Of course, that season was canceled by COVID-19. During the pandemic I have remained healthy and strong. My talent may be a little raw, but it is ready to grow as I go to the next academic level in my dream to become a pharmacist.
