Personal Statement
I am an incoming senior at Jackson High School in southern Ohio. When I am not studying and keeping up with my grades at school, I am running. From my first race, I knew I wanted to run at the collegiate level. I am a fantastic candidate to represent a college on their track team because I am very responsible and am excellent at managing my time and balancing multiple priorities at once. I would be fully dedicated to the team, while being laser-focused on my courses as well.
The difference between myself and most other student athletes is that I plan and prepare for success. For instance, I set time-based goals for my races so that I can drive myself to continuously get better. I ensure that I eat and sleep properly to prepare for meets. I make sure to keep myself conditioned by being involved in many sports.
I am a straight "A" student, and people often say that it comes naturally to me. Although I appreciate their intent, I want people to know that I work very hard to keep my grades where they are at. Although it may change, my goal is to become a Dermatologist, and I know that academic excellence is critical to reaching this goal.
I also like to have fun and make school and sports enjoyable to myself and my teammates. Communication is a strong point for me.
My dream is to run track in college because I am a competitor. I enjoy the feeling that I get when I am running, and I want to take it to the next level. I also want to earn my way through college by being able to do something that I love.
