Personal Statement
Winning 5th place in the 400 meter at the State Track Meet and earning Academic All-Ohio as a junior were the highlights of my high school career. However, I feel I grew the most as a student-athlete my freshman year when an injury prevented me from running at the Regional meet. Thankfully, my injury was not serious, and I was able to come back the next year stronger dropping my 400 time below 60 seconds. However, even with this time as a sophomore, the district my school competed in was extremely competitive and I did not make regionals. Because of these things, I was more determined and set higher goals for my junior year and future.
By the end of my high school career, I will have earned 12 varsity letters as a leading starter in all three sports of volleyball, basketball, and track. I have been fortunate to be on teams earning multiple league, district, and regional titles, as well as earning multiple individual awards. More importantly, sports have helped me develop a strong character. I have learned and applied the values of teamwork, commitment, work-ethic, and leadership, and continue to grow in these areas. I know I have what it takes to bring these values to your program.
