My name is Vanessa McCullough and I am a 5’4”, 120 lb. Senior. I am the second child in a family of four, and we are very competitive in nature. My current best 5K time, achieved my freshman year, is 20:14.2. I qualified and ran in the Ohio High School Cross Country Regionals the past 3 years. In track my best 1,600 meters time is 5:35 and my best 3,200 meters time is 12:32, both accomplished my Sophomore season. I also qualified for State Regionals in both events that season. I did not run track in the Spring of my Junior year put will run this 2014 Spring. I also really enjoy basketball. I earned a Varsity letter as a Sophomore and became the starting point guard my Junior season. I have a strong work ethic and I am a very competitive individual. I expect a lot out of myself to continue to improve and help in the success of my team. I have a fun loving spirit and a big heart for others. I take great pride in leading by example and being a pressure performer. I enjoy being a leader.
Outside of athletics I focus great attention on developing healthy personal relationships and excelling in the classroom. I currently plan to study nursing in college with goals of being a nurse practitioner in pediatrics. I was elected Class President and Homecoming attendant my Sophomore year. I am also part of the National Honor Society.
My desire is to attend a College or University with a nice environment, a competitive XC and/or Track program, and a strong Nursing program. I have interest in playing basketball at the college level as well if the opportunity presents itself. Ideally I wish to attend a school east of the Mississippi River, north of Georgia, and west of the New England states, but I would be open to opportunities just outside these boundaries as well. My athletic goal is to be able to come in and make a strong contribution to the team and continue to improve steadily. Academically my goal is to achieve and maintain a high level of success in order to maximize my future professional opportunities.
I thoroughly love to compete and look forward to doing so at the highest level I am able.
