Going to the 2014 OHSAA Indoor State Meet at Akron University my sophomore year is, so far, the highlight of my track career. Although my 4x200 meter relay team didn't place in the top 8 (we placed 9th), we did improve greatly. Improving our qualifying time from 14th to placing 9th goes to show that prelim or qualifying times aren't final and that anything can happen in a race. Throughout my junior year track season I want to improve as much as I can; from perfecting my blocks, to dropping my times, even working on my running form.
I love the family feeling I get from my track team. During a giant heartbreak at the OHSAA Regional Finals, my teammates, coaches and I helped pick each other back up after a tough race and by the end of the meet we had turned our disappointment into goals for the following year. I would really love to have that kind of relationship with my future team and coach. I think it's important to have a great support system so that you can achieve your goals both academically and on the track. I'm determined to bring my best to better my team, my school, and my future.
