Personal Statement
At the age of four I started competing in a series of different sports. First soccer, then onto competitive cheer and dance, karate, volleyball, gymnastics and now track. After becoming a level 6 gymnasts, my parents became skeptical with the demand and risks and convinced me to try track and field. Soon after, I fell in love with the sport and decided to commit to track 100%. I have been running for my 4th year now and I am most passionate about hurdles. One thing I learned about myself through track was that I needed to improve my self-confidence and mental preparation for big moments. Trusting that the work I have done will pay off. After acknowledging this, with the support of my family and coaches, I have been able to work on building my self-confidence as an athlete and understanding my full potential. With having competed in various sports, I have possessed the skills of leadership and teamwork, making me a dependable student-athlete and always looking to encourage the ones around me. After high school, I plan to major in nursing to become a travel nurse or study exercise science to become a sports medicine physician.
