~~I feel that I am very goal oriented and that is what gives me my drive to achieve the goals in life that I have set for myself. As a freshmen, I did not meet my goal of qualifying for the Oklahoma State High-school Track Meet in long jump but did in the 300 meter hurdles. As my main event is long jump, I was very disappointed in myself for not completing this goal. I remembered that feeling of discouragement and used that during the offseason to work harder to make sure that as a sophomore I would be better prepared to qualify for the Oklahoma State High-school Track Meet in long jump. As a sophomore, I was able to accomplish that goal and won the Oklahoma State High-school Girls 5A long jump event. I feel that because of my dedication to my sport and school, I will compete and train in a manner that would be respectful to whatever school that I may attend for college. Further, I also have goals that I have set for myself in the classroom as well as outside of the classroom but not in the athletic arena. Those goals would be to work hard towards obtaining a degree in pre-med and then continuing my education further in graduate school/medical school. Also, I want to strive to be the best person, Christian, teammate etc. that I can be. I understand that to achieve these goals I must work hard to accomplishment these life goals. I have been fortunate to have a mother and father that have instilled in me the trait of working hard and keeping your eye on your ultimate goal no matter what hurdles or discouragements that may appear in your way. My parents have also taught me to be responsible and to respect my parents, coaches, teachers etc. I would hope that these traits would show to a college coach that was interested in recruiting me that he/she could trust that I would work hard on the field and in the classroom and make the most of the great opportunity that was afforded to me.
