Personal Statement
My name is Carrington Jones-Jackson and I am a 5'3 115 lb sprinter from Tulsa, Oklahoma. Some of my collegiate goals and aspirations are to become a biomedical engineer, to be a consistent factor in making your team better, along with myself on the track and inside the classroom. I am coachable, hard-working, and work the extra hours to make sure I am the best version of myself. Going to Holland Hall, conceivably the top prep school in Oklahoma, has helped me succeed first in the classroom and on the track.
I started track & field in the 6th grade and fell in love with it from the start. I tried out almost every event & ended up setting the middle school long jump record. From 6th grade going into my freshman year I had never lost in the 100 meter dash until one race. I was devastated, but from that moment on it sparked something in me to learn from defeat and always work forward. I've now won state in the 100 meter dash my sophomore and junior year, along with being the 3x regional champ in this race as well. To me there is no better feeling than being on the track and I would love to be on your team.
