Personal Statement
I have been involved in sports since an early age. I did competitive gymnastics throughout grade school along with competitive soccer. Both of these sports helped me to become the athlete I am today. I learned to be disciplined and also learned that it takes hard work to accomplish goals. I started running cross country in 7th grade. I won my very first meet and it was then that I realized I could be really good at running. My love for running has continued to grow since then. I am constantly looking for ways to better myself on and off of the track. I am a team leader, a hard worker and determined to be better today than I was yesterday. I am self-motivated and train during the summers on my own. I contribute my success in both academics and sports to having great teammates, coaches, parents, grandparents and teachers.
My end goal is to become a nurse practitioner. I also want to further my running career by joining a collegiate team in either cross country and/or track. I feel that I will be a great addition to any team. I take instruction and constructive criticism well and I am willing to work hard to reach goals both individually and for the team.
