As a child I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to pursue a career in. One thing I knew for sure is I would never give up on my dream of continuing Track And Field beyond High school. I am looked at as a person with lots of perseverance and is not easy to give up. I will never forget the day in Grade 4 when we started trying out for the school team, I was a top 5 finalist in the 400m race. As the race had begun I had lost a shoe and ran right into a puddle, This was a major step back causing the person I was against to have a great advantage. I was discouraged but I kept my head up high, put my shoe back on and continued the race. From that day forward I kept in mind that it’s not just about the performance it’s about the attitude too. Therefore, I have a different mindset then other recruits. I would encourage team members to keep their head up high and never give up because I believe you won’t succeed if you dwell on your wrongs or your past doings, accidents happen it’s the recovery that matters.
