Personal Statement

My name is Maddison King and my dream is to be a student/athlete in college. The career i want to follow would be nursing. I have many goals but my biggest is to go to college and run track. I love working out and getting better at what i do, i would do anything and the best of what i can do to accomplish what needs to be done. I have a lot of time put into track and plan to put a lot in. I have a very positive attitude and take my mistakes in as a positive way. As of my freshman year, i ran in the state track meet at UofO. I placed 5th with the time of 12.86. That is not my personal best but to even make it to state as a freshman is an amazing feeling. Knowing what i can do now has inspired me to go beyond what i have imagined for my career as a high school track athlete. My goals for my sophomore year were very high. I trained for 9 months and was running the best times I ever have. As the season came though I got injured but decided to run all season so I could go to state. That didn't end up happening, I hurt my knee even worse at districts, I qualified for the 100 still on my injured knee. But when the 200 came I couldn't finish the race. I couldn't even walk after that so I didn't run at state my sophomore year. I have already had surgery on it and recovering for next season! I still plan on running in the low 12s. Let's hope my junior year will be much better. Because I have fallen in love with track and love winning. I am currently in Nation Honor Society at Banks High School. I ran for class president my freshman year and won. I decided to take the year off and work on track all year. Since the beginning of this year i have been working out none stop and now starting all my winter track practices. Besides track and school, i have two brothers and we live with just my mom. My little brother has Downs Syndrome, so i have had to step up and be like another parent to him. I also have a job, i am an assistant photographer for AlleyWayPhotography and a cashier at Coastal Farm and Ranch. I have had my college plan planned out for a few years. I am open to any colleges and would love to talk to any coaches that are interested.
