In approaching the end to my high-school years, I aspire to matriculate into a pre-medical program in hopes of becoming a
Physician's Assistant. With this, I strive to become not only academically successful, but also athletically certified to partake in college level sports such as volleyball or track. Since I was a toddler, I have been shown and taught how to do everything to my best abilities, or in other words, to make each moment count. This includes school work, athletics, chores, instruments, and various relationships that I build with my family and friends. My parents trained my 3 siblings and I how to work hard, whether its chopping down trees with my dad, or planting and weeding with my mom in our 3 different gardens. Currently in Shamokin Area High School, I am acing all of my classes , and seek to continue in this path. I have already taken and passed the AP Exam for Literature, and am now enrolled in AP Biology in which I have a 97%. This is my second year as first violist in Shamokin Area's High School Orchestra, and have participated in District and Regional Orchestra.
Athletics has also become a field in which I enjoy creating my own progress. I have played soccer, volleyball, and track, in which I love track and volleyball superior to soccer. In volleyball, I was a setter in my freshman and sophmore years, and then this year, I was switched into playing as an outside hitter, in which I scored 15 kills in 1 match; (this was my highest amount of kills per match). In track, my best event was long jump, in which I jumped 17 feet and 1 inch in the District finals. In practices for both sports I love knowing that I am accomplishing something that will better my technique, and I also flourish on the advise and comments of my coaches and other experienced persons.
In the aspect of character, I can be seen as one who listens and tries to act on what wisdom is presented to me. Some of my main values are respect and optimism. For myself, I am a neutral person who is not easily swayed emotionally, as I am found to be stead fast in my various perspectives on life. With sports and academics, I find a certain joy in pushing myself to always do better, and am very hard on myself when I feel I am not performing up to my potential. When I am told to do something, such as in practice with my extra curricular activities, I make it a habit not to complain, even if it is the most torturous of cases. If my team needs a spirit boost, I love to volunteer to encourage them from the sidelines or in the game. I would feel very honored if I knew that coaches even took the time to read this short summary of my previous accomplishments.
