Personal Statement
My name is Tamia Nock and as of right now I am 17 years old. I have been running since I was an adolescent and on a team since 9/10. Because of the school I attend, I didn’t think it was possible to major in dance and run on a track team so the first two and a half years of high school I didn’t run. Due to the toxicity of my dancing environment I confided in track again. I came late and new to the high school track environment which was a major reality check since the last time I ran I was consistently winning. Although I came almost 4th to last meet, I still managed to qualify for Pubs and Districts and even the District finals. I realized that since I haven’t been running that my body has changed and that I need to do 100x better at conditioning and knowing how to work my body. Since this will be my last year of high school, I NEED to go out with a bang. States then maybe even New Balance Nationals! I’m funny, goofy, smart, loyal, a shoulder to lean on, a motivator, but know exactly when it’s game time! I’ve also been on honor roll my whole life.
