Hello, my name is Ella Kurovsky and I am a Class of 2024 Junior at Wyoming Valley West High School in Plymouth Pa. I have been a soccer player from the age of 11 up until this school year. I started on a recreational team in my town in 6th grade. I then went on to play for my middle school team for two years, and a local dome team during my final year of Middle School. I ran track and field during my seventh grade year and was prevented from running my 8th grade year due to Covid. I played two years of soccer on the High School level team but my passion changed when I ran track my sophomore year. I came into the season with average skill and by the end I was succeeding. I trained before and worked hard all season and made sure to always give it 110%. I brought my 800 meter run time down by about 50 seconds, from a 3:30 to a 2:44 in just my first year of Varsity Track and Field. My main event is the 800 meter but I also run the 4x8 relay and the 4x4 relay.
I hope to play for a college level team and continue my career in athletics and academics. I am willing to work hard in order to excel because I believe your skills reflect the effort you put into them. I would enjoy running at the collegiate level and furthering my career in academics. I value the qualities of being well-rounded and believe that college Track and Field would be a good fit for me.
