Personal Statement
I was first introduced to cross country the summer after my 6th grade year. I not only loved everything about it, I excelled in it. Since then I have medaled in nearly every invitational I’ve competed in. Throughout my years in cross country, I have been the lead runner on my team. In my freshman and sophomore years I qualified for the PA state cross country championship race. This year I have new competition on my team and I have risen to the challenge. We have learned to work together and push each other to help make ourselves and our team better. I have been a leader to all the runners on the team by supporting and encouraging each member of both the girls and boys teams.
I would love to compete on a college team where I can excel and contribute to the team’s success. I am a dedicated, hardworking individual and will do whatever it takes to help the team. I have learned that it is good to be successful as an individual but it is even better to be successful as a team.
I am a well-rounded athlete. In addition to cross country, I play basketball, softball, and run track. I have received a varsity letter for each of the sports that I have participated in. I love a challenge and the ability to grow as an athlete. This year I am volunteering as a coach for a 12U travel softball team. I truly enjoy teaching the girls and helping them learn new skills.
More important than sports is my education. I continue to work hard on my studies and am working to improve my existing GPA of 3.26 (3.61 weighted).
