I would love to attend a college in a more rural area, but am not opposed to a city school. Since I was little I have had a love for art and want to pursue a degree in Graphic Design/Fine Arts. Academically, I finished my freshman year with a 3.0 and was on honor roll all quarters. I want to improve my GPA and so far this quarter I have an overall GPA of 3.75. In addition to my core classes, I have taken electives to explore art and web design. In my freshman year my work was in 2 juried art shows. I was also given a scholarship to attend color theory art classes at The Goggle Works in Reading, PA.
I began my athletic career as a swimmer. I started swimming when I was 5. I have swam for my age group team, USA Swimming, and now my high school team. In middle school I also began playing water polo and lacrosse. When Covid hit water polo was cancelled, so I began running cross country and fell in love with the sport. It has become my passion. It also led me to join the track team. For track I run the distance events (800, 1600, 3200). I love running because our team is like my family. We are all close and push each other to be the best that we can be. I really believe that running is not just about the individual runner but about winning and losing as a team. I, as an athlete, want to make sure that my teammates feel like they are a part of the group. I get to know everyone and I cheer for everyone. I push myself at practices and take all coaching to heart. My high school coach is amazing and I have learned a lot from him. My freshman year I was the number 7 runner for my team. I had an injury at the end of the season, just prior to our county meet, which caused me to miss a chance at districts. This year, I finished 11th at my county meet and 3rd for my team. I will be headed to districts in Big Springs on October 29th and am hoping to qualify for states. I look forward to all that is to come in high school and am excited for the opportunity to pursue running at the college level.
